TTC after 35

New to Board - First Round of Clomid Help...

Has anyone gotten pg using clomid? Being 36 I know my window of opportunity to conceive is getting smaller and I really could use some "positive" stories to help me believe that this is going to work!! Yesterday was CD 1 so I think I'm having a little anxiety about beginning this process in 4 days...

  • I don't have a positive story but I wanted to wish you GL!  This board has been so helpful for me.

  • I actually have a postive story:)  I was 36 when I got PG with my DD.  It happened on our first cycle of TTC.  I had been on BCP for about 15 years prior and had been off for 2 months.  We had no medical assitance.  So it can happen:)

  • I don't have any positives in regards to Clomid, but I don't think it was because of the drug - timing is a big part of our ttc story.  Just watch out for mood swings and try to stay hydrated.  Wishing you lots of luck!  And, welcome to the board. :)
  • Clomid works for many many people. It worked twice for us, 2nd pg actually stuck.

    GL!

  • I don't have any Clomid advice just wanted to welcome you.  I lurk on Infertility and TTTC - some of the women on those boards use Clomid and my have advice for you. GL!
  • No clomid story to tell. But I wanted to say hi and welcome you to the board.

    GL!

  • My aunt has two beautiful daughters as a result of Clomid (and then had a son without it!)

    Good luck!

  • I got pregnant at 38 on Clomid but miscarried then went on to get pregnant again without it 6 mos. later.  You are definitely not "too old"!   Clomid is drying though so be sure to stay hydrated and read about it's affect on CM.  We used PreSeed lubricant while I was on Clomid and I took Mucinex to help thin mucus.  You can google all these tips and tricks online.
  • Nothing to add regarding Clomid, but wanted to say welcome and good luck!  Its good to be aware of the age factor when planning a family, but just because you are 36 doesn't mean that you don't have time.  There are a lot of women that have healthy pregnancies and babies well into their 40's.  Think positive and try not to get too discouraged if it doesn't happen right away.  Easier said than done, I know.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

  • Hello! I took clomid for one month when my OB prescribed it. When I switched to the RE, he preferred femara so that is what I took when I had my BFP. I had been unmedicated for 8 cycles when I took clomid, so it was definitely time to "up the ante" a bit and try some medicine. Good luck!
