3rd Trimester

Kind of a tmi question about baby flipping - sorry!

I am so sorry to ask this; but the baby flipped, yesterday, and is now head down.  Since then, I have had very loose bowels.  I didn't have this experience with my son, so I am just wondering if it is the position of the baby or if it could be something else.  Thanks!

  • At my appt last week, 32w4d, my OB wasnt able to tell me that LO was for sure head down, but thought she was.....

I will say though - that I, too, have had a combo of loose and not loose stool.  I chalk it up to my food intake.

  • I was about to ask the same thing! My little man flipped about 5 days ago and I have had similar bathroom issues since then.

  • Yesterday, I had a very strange sensation of movement.  Shortly after, I could feel a foot from the outside right at my ribs and a very hard round thing down low (thinking the head).  I haven't gained any weight, yet, so at my 20 week u/s you could actually see the bump of the head from outside of my body, so it is not unusual for me.  I know the baby can keep moving but so far, s/he seems to be in the same position as yesterday.  Along with the loose bowels, I have had to pee about every 15 minutes without drinking much!  haha!
  • One of my pregnancy books, can't remembr which one said that when baby moves head down before delivery (months/weeks before) that it relieves pressure on your intestines and you won't feel constipated anymore. I am sure that may be what's going on.

    Great info - thank you!
