Skoorb

I see you delivered at Doylestown Hospital.  Do you have any complaints about it or were you happy with the experience?  I will be delivering there also, although I've debated switching to a doctor in Abington which is closer to where I live.

Re: Skoorb

  • no complaints, the best set of nurses ever!! We had a fantastic experience (and my birth experience was very traumatic!)

Who is your doctor? IF you are not liking your OB (I'll assume it is either Dinesen or Doylestown Women's OB) I highly recommend Grace Adofo, in Chalfont.

I considered Abington, but they are too baby factory for me... I wanted a more personal experience and I loved every nurse who was there with me (I was there 5 days)

Only complaint was that there were limited private rooms, but on my last night, I got a roommate, but she and I clicked and became fast friends.

  • I go to Dinesen, and sometimes I like him and sometimes I don't.  I've seen him since I was in high school though.  I feel the same way about Abington.  So glad you had a great experience at Doylestown, and sorry you has a traumatic birth experience.  Can I ask what happened?

Did you do any of the birthing classes or breast feeding classes at Doylestown hospital?  I was looking for a specific lamaze class but cannot find them offered anywhere in this area.

Thanks so much for you help!  If you'd rather reply in email my address is megs000@gmail.com
  • Ooh. I fired Dinesen when I was 20 weeks.. I really really despised him!

My birth experience was a freak situation... My spinal wore off before the procedure was complete. I started to get sensation once the baby was out, and felt it all. So I had to have 4 pushes of IV drugs (Morphine, demerol and then fentenyl, which rendered me useless for 24 hours, fentenyl is a serious drug) I felt them replacing my uterus and felt all the stitching and so on. Luckily, I was able to get a local for my staples, but by then, I was essentially in agony.  It is really rare for it to happen that early  (30 min into surgery) and even more rare for it to progress beyond breakthrough pain.
The nurses and nurse anesethetist were amazing through all this...

  • I forgot to tell you about classes...

We took the childbirth class, with Marlene Rosenblum as the instructor. She was AMAZING! Our class was pretty big and we all loved her. I would see if I could get into her class...  We took the wednesday night class, it was 4 weeks long.  In fact, we just had dinner with a couple from our class and we were talking about how great she was. She prepped us for all situations.  We also took the Baby Well class, which was great for my husband, who was unfamiliar with babies.

I also took the breasfeeding class, but it did nothing for me...

Feel free to ask more...  Robinbradel at gmail
