Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What "flotation device" are you using for your toddler at the pool this summer?

I'm using "flotation device" for lack of a better word, haha.

We will be at the pool several times each week... I anticipate dd loving the water as she loved it last summer.

I have a floaty ring thing, but I think I want something that she can wear, but that comes off and on easily. What gets the raves? I refuse (for a dozen diff. reasons) to ever use "floaties" (the kind that go around the upper arm).

tia! I taught swim lessons for years and I am hoping to have dd somewhat swimming by the end of the summer- FUN!

  • I haven't started thinking about this, but I saw a bunch of stuff for swimming in the latest OneStepAhead catalog. Check out their website for ideas.

  • Hey lauren! i taught them too! and plan to start doing it again in the fall. But I got brock a full body speedo floaty. Its not necessarily "easy" to take off...but i can deal with it. I like it because in the baby pool if he slips it keeps him pretty upright. not that i am not like RIGHT next to him in the pool...but you know what i mean.) I am working on teaching him to roll onto his back...so once we have that down the suit i got him will work even better. (does that make sense?) its not something i want him in for very long...but its great while getting him used to the water now (im sure he forgot from last summer :) )

anyway....I got it at target, and I think there was only one kind of "full body suit" for speedo...but one in blue and one in pink.

  • I refuse to use floaties too...we have this from last year that DD will still fit into:

Speedo Flotation Baby Seat with wings | purple

Otherwise she'll be in the baby pool with us supervising closely, or in our arms.
