s/o Peanut Butter

So, I love me some Jif. Like I LURRRRVVVEEE it. I want to MARRRRYYY it.

And I've sworn off of it for life. Argh.

Hydrogenated oil is just TOO bad for you. I can't do it any more. It's a trans fat, even though the label says no trans fat. TO make matters worse, they know we are looking for it so now they are marketing "Natural" varieties with Palm Oil in it - which is the vegetable oil with THE MOST saturated fat possible in it. STILL NOT GOOD FOR YOU. They think they are tricking us and are sneaking it into ALL KINDS of stuff.

So, I'm on the organic peanut butter train. You should be too. I did stir in a bit of sugar when it was new and warm, which helps. Some brands suck, some are okay.

To recap - hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oil = BAD, palm oil = BAD. Please avoid.

But the proteins... THE PROTEINS!  hehehehehe

No, we do organic pb too.  I like the taste a little better than most regular brands.

  • I actually don't mind organic peanut butter. My sister buys organic everything so I have had it there.

lol, thank you for protecting my favorite things from the horrors of trans and saturated fat!

and yes, I could also eat Jif by the spoonful. Happily. Joyfully. But it's the devil.

  • Because in my opinion, there is nothing that will ever be as good as JIF, I don't see the point. I've given up eating peanut butter period.

I would rather do without then try to substitute JIF.

  • I very rarely eat PB.  I can't remember the last time I did in fact.  But we do have organic PB in our house because my SIL bought it when she was here.

Meh, they don't eat pb yet anyway.  We're still trying to figure out if Nathan has gotten over his milk protein intolerance or not, and I refuse to introduce any high allergen foods during this time.  They'll probably be at least 18 months before getting any kind of nuts.

  • I don't remember the last time I had peanut butter.  But it's been years.  DH is allergic to nuts, so I tend to avoid all things nutty, even though I'm not allergic.
