Babies: 9 - 12 Months

easter pets as gifts, and my terrible dh

i have to share this.

yesterday dh and i were driving home and saw a lady walking down the street holding a bunny.  dh asks "wtf?  was that lady holding a rabbit?"  i told him yes, and that bunnies and chicks are huge gifts for kids for easter (i grew up on a ranch and every year about a month after easter we would get calls from people wanting to get rid of their bunny/chick because they are messy/smelly/don't stay "oh so cute").

dh's response to this?  "we could get c a chick for easter one year" (insert side eye from me) "as long as in a few months we get to EAT it!"

ugh, he was quickly told he doesn't get to pick out any pets for DD. EVER!

  • I also thought it was sad when people went Dalmatian crazy after '101 Dalmatians' came out only to find that they are a notoriously hyper breed who needs a lot of exercise.

  • Yikes!!

My FIL bought my older DD a bunny for Easter a few years ago and didn't ask us first. I was so mad. We kept her for awhile and ended up giving her to the ag department at school.
