3rd Trimester

Over It! Go ahead and flame me..past caring.

I am 3 days overdue. Yes, it is my first. Yes, I expected to go past my due date. Yes, I know its normal. Yes, I know the baby will come out when its ready. Yes, I know baby's can't read calendars.

But, today I just don't care. I am in a funk. I am tired of being pregnant. The novelty and wonder is well worn off and I just want to have this baby.

If I read one more post about someone who is 33 or 34 weeks and they "just can't take it anymore" I am going to lose it. Give me a break. Wait until you can't recognize your hands, feet, ankles or your own face in the mirror because you are so swollen. Wait until strangers are telling you to "go home and have sex" or "have you tried nipple stimulation?" when you tell them your due date was last week. When every time you call someone to say hi their first response is "are you in labor" or "is the baby here yet". NO ITS NOT

l should have expected this. I am stubborn. Therefore my baby is stubborn.  It doesn't make it any easier. Sorry for all the ladies out there who have been waiting longer that I have. I feel for you.

Vent over.

Re: Over It! Go ahead and flame me..past caring.

  • Oh and my ticker telling me my baby is 3 days old also annoys the crap out of me. But I am stubborn so I won't change it.

  • My first was 10 days late. I felt the same way. No flames here.. I feel for you. Maybe today will be the day for you. Left Hug
  • Vent away!

    I've decided I get to complain when I hit 40 weeks. :)

Hope she comes soon for you.

  • Ahh ok so I'm not overdue but I'm close enough to feel your pain and can't imagine how I'll feel 4 days from now if she's still not here. I finally got DH to have some "sexy time" he calls it "medicinal time" (after 5 months of nothing) haha! SOLELY for the purpose of helping out this darn hard cervix of mine! Let it out girl! It's OK to feel this way! I'm sending labor dust your way!
  • No flames here. My first was early and even though I was so ready for her to be born when she was, I can't imagine how miserable I would have been at 40+ weeks. Here's hoping it happens soon!
  • No flames at all.  I'm already looking forward to the end...I know I'll be just as miserable as you are if I go past my due date.

  • I feel for you. I went 10 days past my due date and had to be induced. Those last two weeks were so rough. I TRIED EVERYTHING and nothing worked. I was over people asking me questions when I was out and them telling me I looked like I was pregnant with twins. UGH... Seriously though, I was so happy when I was induced and had my precious baby girl. Hopefully you will go into labor soon!!!!
  • No flames, vent away!!! I'm really hoping that LO is early, but I can see myself in your shoes in a few months. As for the strangers... good on ya for not giving them the throat punches they deserve!

  • HEY!! Still hanging in there with you, I know we were both due Thursday.  This is what I've been saying to myself, and I mean no offense to the medical profession, I'm just trying to psych myself out:

It's Easter weekend.  Lots of people want to get together with their families to celebrate.  Therefore I've told myself I don't want to go until at least Tuesday, because probably a lot of the regular dr/nursing staff has taken holiday time, leaving folks less familiar with the department or the floor short handed.  Or if they do have to work, they might be sad/grumpy about working while their families are at home celebrating without them. Therefore, I don't really want to deliver yet becuase I want to wait until the staff is back in place, happy about their jobs and so on.  I've actually worried about delivering on Easter! Plus, can you imagine the dumb things people might say about your Easter baby?

On a side note: I wish getting out of bed wasn't so uncomfortable.  I don't mind the laying down, sleeping is good, but the 1 million times I have to sit up to get out of bed to visit the restroom is killing me.  HANG IN THERE!!!

  • Thanks ladies! I just needed to get that off my chest. I have tried very hard to stay positive but today is just not my day. Thanks for the support :)

  • I feel you! I was due April 1st and I feel like everyone looks at me like I am a time bomb at work (and yes, I am still working because I want all my off time to be spent with my little man). I didn't want any intervention with this pregnancy but if the doctors brings it up on Tuesday, I am seriously going to consider the option.
  • I'm not even 38 weeks yet, and I'm over it today too. Maybe today is a bad day?? No flames here. Good luck to you!
  • LOL.  Vent away!!!  No flames here.  I'd be damn ready at 40 weeks too!!

Unfortunately, I'm at the other end of the spectrum....I'm not quite 32 weeks and already dilated 2cm.  I'm PRAYING, this baby stays put for 8 more weeks.....and I am MISERABLY uncomfortable.

  • No flames from me either.  My little guy was due on Wednesday and he just doesn't want to come out.  I'm over it, too!

And I'm tired of people who don't have any kids sending me emails or calling me and telling me how to start labor.  Don't you think I've read the same articles???!!!!! We're trying some stuff, but if he's not ready, it's not going to work.

I want to do a med-free labor, but if this kid isn't out by 42 weeks, bring on the induction! Ten days or less, ten days or less! I keep telling myself I'm going to meet him in ten days or less.  MUST.HANG.ON.

Good luck to all of you overdue ladies! Labor dust all around!

  • LABOR DUST to you..... I feel your pain.. I still have a couple days till im overdue but im ready! I think its all the comments that make it the worst. I have to answer the phone or say hello (if im calling someone) by saying "NO BABY or LABOR", its pathetic... and my poor hubby cant get any work done because people are at his desk all day asking if I have had the baby or how im doing.... do they not realize that he would be in the hospital or home if I had the baby... DUH.

And here is the big one... if one more person, especially those who have never had a baby, looks at me and says "WOW you havent dropped yet" Im going to SMACK them.... Would  they also like to check my cervix and see if I have dilated too...

VENT away... I think they need a separate board for 39+ weeks so we can all share in our discomfort and annoyance of others : )

I know! I have strangers asking me if I am dilated..um do I know you? And also telling me "its probably going to be awhile, since you haven't dropped yet". I have a short torso!! I have dropped and I hate you.

I also agree that a 39+ board would be great!

  • No flames. I'm not over due yet, but I feel you and I'm two weeks behind you. People have keep saying I haven't dropped and he won't be out for weeks. I got super excited last week when I was having contractions only to go to the doctor the next morning and be told I was having false labor and was not dilated at all!! Total downer! Vent away...I know I will be in two weeks.
  • No flames from me--I completely understand.

BUT I wanted to say the second time around (at least for me) I am much more impatient.  Even though I'm only 33 weeks, I popped big time at 8 weeks and have been experiencing the not-so-fun symptoms much earlier this time.  So I feel entitled to my whining, especially since I'm chasing a toddler all. day. long. on top of it all. :p

I understand. I guess I should have clarified that my 33 week comment didn't apply to 2nd timers.  :)

  • It's good to let it all out! Yes
  • I know how you feel.
  • i'm not yet to that point but you will definitely get no flames from me.  i know if i'm uncomfortable now i will be miserable in 4 weeks.  hang in there! labor dust coming your way :)

  • Could have written this post myself.  I had a good couple of days patience-wise but am feeling so frustrated and over it.  I really, really do not want an induction so I think watching the date my midwife wants to induce creep closer and closer on the calendar is messing with my head.

Lots of labor dust to you and peace and sanity dust in the meantime.
