the good the bad & the ugly. i want to make an appt this coming week to get it implanted but i'm hearing so many positive and negative things about it.
my main concerns are...
can hubby feel it?
is the "string" that hangs down hard enough so that you can't use a condom too? (i'm thinking about using a condom for the first month or so after insertion)
is it true that the "string" softens after awhile?
what was YOUR period like? i know it differs for everyone.
and anything else you can think about...or other BC that you recommend for a breastfeeding mommy. i need something semi-permanent LOL...cuz if i get pregnant again i'm gonna fall out.
tia.
Re: tell me all about mirena
Hi! I just had mine put in last Thursday. My doctor said it was effective immediately..so I don't think you need a condom, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt!
My DH felt it the first time...kind of poking him...we ended up stopping. Then 2 nights later we tried again and he didn't feel them.
I'm thinking they softened, which is what the strings are supposed to do.
I just have my period now....it's nothing that bad, but like I said I just got it in on thursday, so we'll see next month.
I heard that you have to be carefull when using the mini pill.....you can EASILY get pregnant with that...I think my good friend is pregnant..her LO is 5 months and she's on the mini pill. She's taking a test tonight!
It makes me a little nervous because I have heard both sides and of course I FREAK when I hear the negatives, but so far so good!
I'm so scared to get mirena! I asked my dr for the mini-pill but im skeptical about it. He said AS SOON AS i stop bf-ing to get the regular pill because its really recommended. So I dont know. I'm just wondering about the "may attatch or go through the uterine wall" part of it. Anyone have that happen? How do they get it far enough in there? It looks like its past the cervix. I'm so uneducated about it.
