Hi! All of my friends have put the fear in me that I need to be looking for a Preschool for my LO as of right NOW. LOL... It was already traumatic for me having to look for a daycare..I can't imagine having to do it all over again and so soon! How old were your LO's when you started doing your research?
Also, if anyone has any recommendations for a Preschool in the Livermore area, I greatly appreciate it!!
TIA!
Re: How soon should I be looking for Preschool
Honestly, it depends. I think you need to ask yourself first at what age you'd like your LO to start preschool. Most preschools are 3, some 2, some 2.5+potty trained. Also depending on your area some schools might have long wait lists. With those two factors combined you'll know when to start looking.
G's program (which goes all the way up to kinder) has a 12-13m wait list. So if our school is one you want to go to, you need to sign up way ahead of when you'd need to. I would do a very general query what wait lists are like in your area. If short, don't stress about it at all

When I was looking for a place for Fudgie (at around 1 1/2, 2), I found some places with a long waiting list (6 mons. It was March and they would have space in Sep when the kids move up a room), some with immediate availablity and most with a spot for him in about 2 months.
I'd say start looking a few months in advance.
Good luck!
