Pregnant after a Loss

vomiting at 10 weeks??

Seriously?! Did anyone else first start vomiting during 10 weeks?  Happened about 3 times this week, last night being the worst.  TMI, but there's not a lot of food involved, just stomach acid or the vitamins (tastes sour and bitter like some of the vitamins do).  It happened about an hour after taking them.

I'm on progesterone supplements, but I have been for over 2 weeks.  Not sure if that has anything to do with it.  So unhappy that this is first starting now.  Anyone else start this late?

Re: vomiting at 10 weeks??

  • Yeah, unfortunately.  This time I started around 8 weeks "/

I found by keeping my stomach full (but not too full....it's a fine line!), I threw up less.

    Hope it doesn't last long!

  • Mine started at 6 weeks...

Take your vitamins BEFORE you go to bed, that will help.

  • This time around things started early but the vomiting has continued even into 14 weeks.
  • When I was pregnant with DS the height of my m/s was 12-14 weeks :(

  • I started vomiting about 10 weeks...I thought, shouldn't I have passed this by now?  Doc said no - hormones are at highest in late first tri and don't start going down for several more weeks.  Good luck!
  • i started voming at week 13. luckily it stopped around week 15
  • increasing your protein will help.  you should be striving for 60-80gms a day.  having a protein snack right before bed will help as well.

  • While I didn't vomit, I didn't feel nauseous until 9 weeks.   At week 10 and 11, I really peaked and felt the most sick.  I hope it does not last long for you.
  • I've been a lot more sick the last couple days as well. I'd say normal.

  • Eek, thanks all - I guess I'm not a totaly freak after all.  And I've probably been a little light on the protein this week (being a vegetarian combined with passover makes things difficult) - will defnitely try to up the protein to see if it helps.  I do take the vitamins before bed, but they kick in so quickly that I feel nauseous and can't sleep after 10 minutes.  I lie awake for a while till I run for the bathroom. LOL.. good times.
  • I'm late on this, but I started throwing up around 7 weeks, and it got progressively worse up to 17 weeks.  My OB finally prescribed Zofran, and it has worked wonders!  I decided to try skipping a day of the pills yesterday because I was feeling good, and I wanted to save them (they aren't covered and they're kinda expensive), and that was a mistake.  I ended up throwing up my egg sandwich.  So, I highly recommend the meds if things don't get better for you soon!

  • I was only nauseous during 1st tri but never threw up then around 12 weeks I started throwing up everyday several times a day till about 18 weeks.
  • I started vomiting somewhere in the 6-7 week range and I am still going strong. I have pretty much given in to the fact that the first thing I eat will be coming back up whether i like it or not and that I am going to feel like crap until after lunch and sometimes longer.
  • My nausea started to get really bad at 8w and the vomiting at 12w. Sorry, but happens...Hang in there!
