Hey, I was thinking about you the other day - how are things going? How is your foot healing up and how's your mom. I tried some different foot inserts and my feet weren't happy, so of course I thought of you.

Re: **MrsH_08**
Hi Angel! I'm doing ok - thanks! We're into week 2 of the IVF cycle and injections started yesterday. Going well so far, except I'm already tired of the spotting I'm getting from BCP. My mom just had chemo treatment #2 and she's tolerating it well. We were nervous b/c she didn't do well with it, last time. But she's got a good attitude and wants "to put that chemo poison in her and get the cancer poison out!" :-)
My foot is finally showing improvement. I've been wearing a bone stimulator (*pause for laughter*) each night, for 20 mins, to help the gap I still had in bone growth. That should be done at the end of April. I've had to send back one of my orthotics 3x now to be re-cut and molded around the surgery site. I'm waiting for it to come back, right now.
Do you have a podiatrist? I know you're farther north, so my guy in Edmonds would be too far. But I don't remember if we talked about that. Were your orthotics molded and do you have follow-ups, etc? If not, maybe check into it so they can re-fit you for ones that work better. I know what a pain it can be, literally, when your feet aren't in good shape!

That's the attitude to have - I just read Thankful Thursday and saw that she started; if wouldn't mind telling her for me - I hope she feels better and kicks it's butt.
Yay for your foot. And yes, I totally snickered at the stimulator - but at least I know what it is. It was something they talking about with my ankle surgery way back when because they weren't sure if the ankle was going to grow how it needed to. How much of a gap are you working on?
Waiting for orthos bites - what are you doing in the mean time? I have a great foot doctor, but I have to actually go see him. I get the molded plastic, but I haven't gone in years, and I'm overdue. I tried some of the Dr. Scholls custom fit ones - blah. They were comfy, but my hips started to hurt and my chiropractor asked me what was up. So now I have to reschedule my foot appointment, and I've been waiting patiently for teething, thrush, work craziness and clogged ducts to go away. I think I might have chance in May

I will, thanks! :-)
Wow, you are the first person who has known what the bone stimulator is! Luckily, it doesn't hurt and it's doing its job. Too bad it's not a rental and I had no choice but to buy it ($250). I think my gap had been 4-5mm, but now it's less than half of that, after 60 days. Sounds like your ankle ended up healing as it should (?). I'm glad to hear that b/c the pain that results (in both feet), plus swelling, as a result of the little gap, gets bad at times. I hope you got to avoid that part, at least.
I have old orthotics that I wear when I'm waiting for the newer ones. As of now, I've only been swapping out the right one, so I'm wearing my old right side one. It's cracked, but better than nothing. I know what you mean about the Dr Scholls type. They aren't perfect, if you have a real issue. I'm sorry you have been dealing with crud on top of crud and can't even get in to get new orthotics. I'm crossing my fingers that you catch a break before May!!!
