Do I need to get a headrest for the carseat? for when they are really small?
ALso we are getting the Chicco Key Fit travel system? Do I need a lighter stroller right now? LIke a Chicco capri stroller?
How many bottles do I need? The born free come in 5 oz and 9 oz, do I need the same number or each? Do I need extra nipples?
Will I use swaddler wrap if I have a summer baby?
Sorry for all the questions, just not really sure what I need and dont need
Re: 2nd time moms... baby gear questions???
We used one of the soft, double headrests. I didn't like the flimsy one that came with the carseat.
I used the bit travel system more in the beginning with the carseat and wanted a lighter one later on.
It all depends... are you formula feeding entirely? You probably want to just get very few of some kinds and see what baby likes... then get more later.
If your baby likes the swaddler, you will. Mine was born in May in TX and we used it all summer with a onesie under it. She loved to be swaddled!
Headrest - no. I found rolling two receiving blankets and putting those on either side of baby's head to work better than the headrest anyway, plus that is what our inspector told us to do.
You don't need one right away, I'd wait on a lighter stroller until you decide what you like in strollers.
Bottles depends on if you are bottle or breastfeeding. I bf and had 9 bottles and it was plenty. I used more of the smaller ones, formula babies will need bigger ones.
I loved swaddle wraps, you can get light ones for summer.

We always just rolled up a receiving blanket and used that as a head support.
I have no idea about the stroller. We ended up going for an umbrella stroller around 1 year because DD was so tall.

It all depends on whether you decide to FF, BF, or both, and how often you want to wash bottles.

no need for a lighter stroller - get it later *if* you decide you need it.
are you FFing? i BF-ed and only bought 2 bottles (small ones). I'll let other moms weigh in on this one.
YES - Aden+Anais blankets are awesome for swaddling summer babies.
Headrest- Yes IMO. I had a teeny baby last time and we used it for.ev.er.
You don't need an umbrella stroller until at least 3m. They can't be in one until then bc they can't support themselves enough. But most women hate the travel system and get rid of it as soon as they can.
IDK on bottles, DD#1 was EBF for 10m. I bought a couple of packs of Tommee Tippee and Nuby ones so I have 13 plus a couple from packets from DD#1 when we'd try one bottle and it wouldn't work so I never took the others out of the box.
Swaddlers totally depend on the baby. Yes, if you have a swaddler you will use it even in the summer, but don't stock up on them until you know for certain that you have a swaddler.

Also we are getting the Chicco Key Fit travel system? Do I need a lighter stroller right now? LIke a Chicco capri stroller? Most lightweight strollers don't recline enough for newborns, so you probably won't use one four months at the earliest, when baby has more head and neck control. Unless you're planning on putting it on your registry, I'd suggest waiting until you figure out what you like and dislike in a stroller before buying one yourself.
How many bottles do I need? The born free come in 5 oz and 9 oz, do I need the same number or each? Do I need extra nipples? It depends on whether you'll be breastfeeding or formula feeding. I breastfed but used Playtex drop-ins occasionally, and two 4 oz. bottles and four 8 oz. bottles were enough for us. We didn't have any extra nipples.
Will I use swaddler wrap if I have a summer baby? Swaddling helps most babies sleep better, so unless it's really warm (like if you don't have a/c), you will want some swaddle blankets -- cotton, not flannel or fleece. You can dress baby in a onesie or even just a diaper underneath.
Based on our experience...
1. Our infant carseat came with one, which worked just fine (the Graco Snugride). For the convertible carseat we had in DH's car we defintely needed a headrest. We bought the "snuzzler" that padded around the head and body. Rolled receiving blankets work well, too.
2. We ended up using the baby bjorn almost exclusively for the first year, then switched to the light-weight umbrella stroller. With the travel system, you won't need a smaller stroller to start with, so you can wait on that purchase.
3. I breastfed, but then pumped during the day when I went back to work. I ended up with 16 5-oz bottles (we used the Medela brand). That worked out to sending four to daycare for the day, me taking four to work to pump into, and the 8 bottles from the day before somewhere in the wash cycle. DS never took a bottle very well, so he never outgrew the 5-oz size before we switched him to a sippy cup. We bought extra nipples as needed - we lost a few in the wash, some broke, etc.
4. DS never liked to be swaddled, but some babies love it! They make lightweight swaddlers that work really well. We have a few from DS that I'll be getting out for the new baby, just in case thie one wants to be swaddled.
Good luck!
ditto all the above.
