Success after IF

It's Sam's C-day!

His conception day :)

I can hardly believe it has already been a year.  It seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago. 365 days ago sperm met (donor) egg and that unique combination of chromosomes grew to become the cutest kid in the world.

As I sit here wondering if Sam has been eating well and napping at daycare, I also wonder about his donor. I wonder if she thinks about the kids she helped create. I wonder if her career goals are proceeding the way she hopes. I wonder if she has donated again - and whether we may ask her to for us in the future.

Would it be weird to open a bottle of champagne tonight to celebrate the day our son was created in a dish?  Wink

  • Not weird at all!  We IFers have very different experiences around our children and their conceptions... When I went to the RE's recently for my new SHG, I was taken to the room where I'd had my transfer for DS.  It was the first time I'd been back in that room, and my memories/emotions from that event are so strong...I teared up.  It's a special place, and today is a special day.  Happy C-day, Sam!
  • No doubt, celebrate!  What an amazing, amazing gift.  A whole year -- wow.
