Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

When did your LO start repeating words right after you say them?

DD picks up on words and has a pretty good vocabulary, but she never used to say them while I was "teaching" her. She'd lock it away in her head and say it later (usually in context).

When did your LO start repeating them after you?

  • Brooke doesn't have a huge amount of words but she just started repeating things recently.  For instance last week I asked her to say please for something and she went, "Peez".  And she'll repeats all her animals and their sounds now.

  • Jackson is a chatterbox, since about 15 months he would repeat things after us for the most part and by 18 months could say just about anything. He's still a parrot and loves to repeat our sentences.

    This exactly!

  • DD still shows little interest in saying actual words and she's 15 months. She points to ducks and says something that sounds like either "duck" or "that". But she does the same thing to the frog and fish. ::shrugs shoulders::
  • Right now.  19 months.
  • at 15 months, he was repeating our words and if we said "can you say... " he'd say that
