So wahts a good test to buy? I have never used one and dont even know what they measure or when to use it. LOL I know basically when I ovulate but never used the tests. I figure since I have never had a child and I am 37 it could not hurt to try them out. Really would like to get pregnant on our honeymoon this April. We shall see. If not practice is always fun!
Thanks in advance!
Re: Ovulation Tests?
They detect luteinizing hormone (LH) which surges about 24-36 hrs before ovulation. Most of them have a control line and a second test line...kinda like a pregnancy test. The shading of the line is also an indicator of how much LH you have in your system. Since it can be hard to read the results most women like to use the CBE (clear blue easy) digital OPK's which alert you to ovulation with a smiley face...much easier to read.
SInce you have never charted or anything like that they say to start on cd7 and continue until you get a positive OPK.
Another suggestion would be to get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has a lot of good info and explains how to chart.
GL to you!
