I'm a newbie and I have a question for you guys. Have any of you used the ovulation test sticks ALL MONTH and they never once showed anything? It's scaring me into thinking maybe I'm not ovulating. Has anyone else had this happen?
There is a lot of info on this subject especially on some of the other TTC boards and I am not that well versed yet, but from what I have read so far, you can have months that you don't ovulate. You also could have missed the surge by testing the wrong time of day. I would give it another month or two (if you don't get a BFP) before I would get to worried that you are having an actual problem. Also, if you have gone of the BCP recently, that could be why you might not have ovulated. It took me almost a year to regulate after going off of BC. Good luck!
I give up trying to get a ticker. I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome. Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself. Hmmm. How about...

It's possible you might not be O'ing. I've found the best way to use the OPKs is at 11:30 am w/little fluids in the AM. I drink my coffee and try to hold it until then. It caught it for me this month. But, first thing in the AM or after I've had a lot to drink, not so much. My OB also said to pay extra for the name brand ones. I did this month just to see and they worked for me. You may want to invest in a fertility monitor if the timing of an OPK isn't good for you. And, after you buy enough name brand OPKs, you're probably better off with a fert monitor for cost savings. GL!
I haven't been on the pill. But, I haven't been testing the same time of day either. So, I'll try that, thanks for the suggestions!!! I'm gonna do the basal next month on top of that to see if that helps. The only sign I had this month of the O was (sorry for TMI) the mucus. I had it for two days.
Yep, you can miss the surge. Also, the OPK's only tell you if you are gearing up to ovulate. You need to chart to be sure. Have you read TCYOF? You can also get to fertility friend through my siggy & get the free version to make charting easier. They also have very informative tutorials.

I didn't use OPKs, but with DD I was charting and had a very clear chart showing I didn't O until CD 27. I was having a lot of weird spotting and stuff at the time so I think my hormones were a little messed up, but I was having regular periods (or something) every 28-30 days. We conceived DD when I ovulated and her ultrasounds confirmed that she was conceived that late in the cycle. So, hey, it could be you really didn't O yet. Good luck!
yup - it is possible that you didnt o - some of us don't every month - my doc told me it is pretty common and has nothing to do with age (yay!) you might talk to your doc about it..good luck!
Re: Ovulation test sticks say I haven't ovulated this month?
