Babies: 0 - 3 Months

my FFFC...you are warned...

Sometimes if I'm already in a semi-crabby mood and I come on the bump...I get annoyed when I see someone's siggy with the "i went natural" badge. I think..."well whoop-de-freakin-do for you!" I feel like it's a slap in the face to the epi ladies who apparently just aren't strong enough. Where's the badge for the big babies who are awful and pumped their body full of drugs to get through the pain...yet somehow still managed to give birth to a perfectly healthy baby?!

flame if you want...i know it was harsh lol

i know there is one for when you were pregnant i think, that said "stab me in the back."

  • I was induced and had a really rough go before I was able to get an epi.  I wanted one from the minute I found out I was pregnant, I just couldn't get one right away.

About an hour after I finally got the epi., I turned to my nurse and said "I can't believe anyone does this without an epi!", and she then informed me that she did it without an epi., no problem.

    Hm.  Thanks.

  • I'm not sure why you think someone else's badge is directed at you.

Exactly this. Also induced, and also endured quite a bit of pain before they let me get the epi, and honestly, I can't imagine why you WOULDN'T get it......

  • I get the same way, except for with the EBF badge, and sometimes even the EP badge. It sucks feeling like your body has failed you for whatever reason.

  • LOL I totally agree; I don't understand people who object to advancements in medical science and pain control.  I LOVED my epidural and had an awesome birth experience because of it!

Ever think of cutting down?  Your sig takes up my entire screen.

  • I think it's like anything else. You make the best choice for you and your family. There is nothing wrong with getting an epi just like there is nothing wrong with going natural.

    I love your badge!

  • I got my epi before I had any painful contractions. We had a party. We spent the hours laughing, goofing around, and anticipating my baby's arrival. Pain was not invited to my party. I had nurses join the room just to see what the fun was all about. My baby was born completely alert and we have a picture of her 30 seconds after the birth where here eyes are wide open and looking at the camera. I wouldn't have changed a single thing in regards to the epi.
  • Yeah, if it makes you feel better, I was tolerating labor extremely well and made it to 5 cm will little hullabaloo.

Then, I opted for the epi just so I could go pain free.  I was no hero.  I agree with Greeky - I don't get badges, personally.

  • I wish I could have gotten the Epidural! I went natural not by choice. They stabbed me 8 times in the back trying to get an epidural in, but my back is just to screwed up so the epi never took. I really should have a badge that says "I'm pissed off I went natural!" lol
