Tresemme. My hair dresser said it was one of the better over the counter brands, because like you said the Pantene can cause build up. I used Pantene before I switched.

Big Sexy Hair. It seems to work to amp up the volume a little. I change shampoo occasianally though. It seems like the old one will stop working for a while. The neutrogena one for removing build up works really well.
Usually Rusk (I had my hair thermally straightened with their system) when I can get it in the super sized containers. I'm growing my hair out though so when these bottles are gone I'll probably switch to something cheaper.
It's expensive, but it's worth it. It keeps my color great and it's the best volumizing shampoo/conditioner I've ever tried. I just buy the huge bottles for $50 and it lasts me close to a year. W/ "better" shampoos/conditioners, you can use much less so they last longer.

I also use pureology. I buy the big $50 bottles and they last about 8 months but I also am able to wash my hair every 2-3 days. So worth the extra money!

Whatever I have a coupon for
I do change brands a lot. My favorite is Fructis.
BFP #3 -mm/c @ 7wks, discovered at 9wks, D&C 9/28
BFP #4 5/29 EDD 2/9 - please be our rainbow
It has a light and refreshing scent, I love it.
I use these and LOVE them. They cost more $$...but so worth it with how soft it makes my hair!

I have kind of a Big 3 that I like-
Paul Mitchell Skinny (makes my hair super shiny and dries faster)
Giovanni Golden Wheat (great for my oily hair, again makes it shiny)
Eufora Pure Cleanse (shine, good for my scalp) I have to get this one at the salon though I've never seen it anywhere else
