Success after IF

Not feeling her move much...

I am 28w4days and she has really slowed down this week. I am not feeling the kicks/punches like I used to at all. I can feel her head/butt pressed against my belly, but I don't feel the jabs. I called into the Nurse and she has me coming in at 1pm. I can hear her just fine on my fetal heartbeat detector. Did anyone else notice a big slow down once they hit 7 months?

I'm obviously not to that point in my pregnancy yet but I wanted to let you know I am thinking about you!

I am sure all is well with baby girl and that she is just running out of room!

  • This happened to me, too.  It would last for a couple days and then BAM, they'd move like crazy again.  I think it was just their positioning that made me feel them less because during my NSTs, they were going like crazy even though at times I couldn't feel them.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Yes, the exact same thing happened to me around 27-28 weeks.  I always felt movement it just wasn't as much as before.  It only lasted a week or two, then the movement really started getting crazy.  I'm glad you're going in, if nothing else for peace of mind.

  • I did right at 28w.  I called my Dr. too because he wasn't as active, still could feel him, but it was more muffled if that makes sense.  Dr. told me around this time they go through a growth spurt and sometimes are more quiet, or sleep and there also isn't as much room for the sumersaults he used to do.  Well, 2 days later he picked right back up and has been moving strongly ever since.
  • Yes! I was totally worried because kick counts were suppose to start and she stopped kicking. Her movment changed to more rolls and stretches and randoms kicks and jabs. Some days she moves all day and other days I have to lay down and really focus to feel any. According to my OB, as long as you can feel 10 movements in 1-2 hours, 1-3 times a day you're OK.

  • I went through this exact same thing last weekend. I was definitely concerned! I could get him to move, but he was so quiet, I was wondering if I was just imagining the tiny kicks in my head. I kept checking his heartrate  and eventually he picked back up again a couple days later.

I think it's totally normal. I hope your appointment provides you with some good answers! Please keep us updated. :)

  • I will update this afternoon. I am so used to her being an Olympic athlete in there that I think it took me awhile to realize she wasn't moving as much and now it is barely at all. I don't want to be one of "those" patients, but I just want to know she is ok.

You are smart to call and go in. I hope all goes well! :)

  • I'm glad you are going in for peace of mind...but that happened to me.  My movements were sporadic at best through the whole pregnancy.  It is so, so nerve wracking.  This really is the time that they are getting bigger and chilling out more in there.

    Keep me posted!!
