Anyone still wearing Maternity Clothes?

DD is almost 5 weeks old now...I'm still wearing maternity clothes.  Not even close to wearing my old clothes.  I'm BFing, but wondering when will the weight start falling off like everyone has told me?  Starting my workout next week and looking forward to it.  I'm back at work too already so I'm extra tired and just plain exhausted.  I can't even fit into normal clothes in the women's section.  Maternity seems like my only way to go right now.

Re: Anyone still wearing Maternity Clothes?

  • I'm still in my maternity jeans. I can wear most of my tops from before as long as there is enough room in the chest. I tried on a pair of regular jeans today and felt so flabby ... ugh. I really wanted something new for Easter but nothing feels like it looks right. I can't see any of it changing till I amp up my exercising.

My friend is 4 months pp and just now got back into one pair of her pre-preg pants.

  • I'm still wearing maternity pants, but only because I'm afraid of my jeans rubbing against the incision from my c-section.

  • Yep I'm still wearing mine and I'm almost 3 months pp...My chest is way to big for any of my normal shirts and my hip structure seems to have changed so I can't even try to fit into my old pants...just don't have the money to buy new clothes now and then new clothes when everything goes back to normal...
  • I am too! I can't fit into my pre-preg jeans yet. Not sure if I would really want to anyway, though, since my c-section scar is still pretty tender.

I'm BFing too, and the weight NEVER just "fell off" for me. A few of my blog readers have said that for them, they noticed the easiest weight loss between 4 and 5 months PP.

I'm not in maternity clothes, but I'm not in my normal size either. I just felt like regular jeans hold in the belly a bit better than maternity jeans.

  • I am wearing most of my t-shirts and polo shirts but i am still unable to get into my pre-p dress shirts and pants because of the extra skin/fat I am carrying around the middle section. But, it may be in my hips or my weight may have shifted because I am only 7 pounds away from what I weighed b4 I got pregnant. I am up one size.

  • I'm out of maternity pants, but a size or two bigger than pre-pregnancy. I wore my maternity jeans for probably around 6wks pp. I do still wear maternity shirts bc my size E milky boobies don't fit in regular shirts in which the shoulders fit in most cases. At almost 3mo pp, I only weigh 5 lbs more than before pregnancy but am way flabbier and wonder if I will ever fit back into my old jeans w/o muffin top...that all said, I also had women tell me they were thinner than before they got pg from EBF, which I do, so I'm waiting for that to happen still too!!

  • Aah, I love this post :) I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I just had a little mini-breakdown (no crying, just lots of frowns and worry) in the Target dressing room because NOTHING fits me! My boobs are even more humongous (38I right now) than normal b/c I'm EBF and I have a big fat flap right above my c-sec incision that jeans will NOT button over. I have gone up a size in my jeans and they still won't button over the pooch AND they don't fit in the legs/butt. I don't know what I'm going to do. I guess I'll keep wearing the one pair of maternity jeans that still fit me and keep working out. I'm about 8lb from my pre-preg weight, but my shape is so different now.

I'm also glad to hear I'm not the only EBFer whose weight has not magically disappeared like everyone keeps insisting it will. LIARS! lol

  • I went through my closet yesterday and have a huge pile of clothes I can't wear anymore.  My hips are so much wider now, I can't get most of my old skirts/pants/shorts halfway up my thighs.  :(  I don't want to buy new clothes just yet 'cause I have a few more pounds to lose, but I only have a few outfits I can wear right now!

  • I'm wearing my early maternity jeans right now!  Yesterday I went out and bought a pair of regular jeans (I bought a size 12--used to be an 8) because I'm tired of constantly pulling up the maternity jeans!  Ugh.

I'm in the terrible in between phase--my maternity clothes are too big and my prepreg clothes are too small, and my chest is bigger so my old shirts are too short...and my feet have grown a half size, so my shoes don't fit either!   My jackets and coats don't fit for the same reason...

  • I am waiting for something to fit.  I didn't know my feet would get even larger than they were originally!  I'm with you all.  I am only 3 weeks PP now and still have a while to get to where ya'll are at.  Ugh!
  • i wear maternity shorts....they are so comfy I don't know how I am going to give them up eventhough I can wear the ones I had before I got pregnant.
