Moms pumping at work - where do you pump?

I'm jumping the gun by sneaking over to 3-6, but just learned my office is moving spaces and I'll be losing my private office where I once intended to pump in complete privacy.

I'll be in a new shared office space and as far as I can tell this building as no spaces set aside for pumping. Even though the bathrooms are clean, I dislike this idea.

Where do you go and how did you approach getting this space (if you had to) with your boss or company (Mine is less than 50 employess so the new Obama health care bfing law does not apply).

I work in cubville and they have set aside a small small conference room with no windows for me to use. No one eles every uses this conference room we have 4 others so now it just referred to as the "pump room".

I use a tiny kitchen that is basically just a cement block walled space that I can lock myself in. If you just ask, you will probably be surprised how nice they will be about finding you a space. Though I know my sister had to use the bathroom a few times, and other times they would let her use the office of someone who was out of town.

I am on the road alot and mostly pump in my car. It wasnt easy at first but now that I am used to it, its not bad. I wrote a blog entry about how I get it done.

My office has a 'Maternity Room' set up right next to the restrooms. It's about 6'x6' and has a office chair, mini fridge and a desk with magazines....no windows and it's totally private.

I am self-employed in a work space with a general-use kitchen/breakroom/dispensary and a bathroom. The former has people in and out constantly, so I opt to use the bathroom. It's clean and doesn't bother me. You gotta do what you gotta do.

I work in a cube so no pumping in my office either. I use what they call "the quiet room". It's a multi purpose room with a couple nice chairs, phone, lamp, locking door. I worked with facilities to arrange the space

I share an office too, but I pump in a vacant office that's nominally "flex space." Nobody uses it but me.

I was fortunate -- my boss is a mom and she addressed the topic with management on my behalf before I came back. It probably helped that DC (where my office is) has a law requiring all employers to provide space for pumping moms.

You may need to be creative -- a former coworker of mine used to pump in a supply closet. It sucked, don't get me wrong, but she did it. All you need is an outlet, a chair, and a door with a lock.

Pumping in a private bathroom isn't that bad. I actually prefer it over an office (I have the choice). The sink is right there and it's so convenient. I don't sit on a toilet though... I have a chair.

I use the individual handicap bathroom. It's private with a door that locks... but I have to stand and there's not a whole lot of space the set stuff down. It works though.
