Temping opinion/help

Hi all!  I posted an intro awhile back and have lurked a little, but I am super busy right now so haven't been able to be on a lot and posting much to meet a lot of you.  Anyway, we have two more cycles before we can begin trying again, but I have been attempting to get back into the temping habit and get a feel for what my body is doing now.  Before being PG, I used to wake up when the alarm went off to wake up DH and temp then.  Now, aside from forgetting the first couple days (oops!), I realize that I am waking up several times a night, so 1) I'm not sure that I'm getting a 3 hour block of sleep near the morning and 2) I tend to wake up to go to the bathroom 1/2 to 1 hour before the alarm goes off.  (which is bad b/c then I just hop up and go to the bathroom without even thinking first).  I think the constant getting up thing is leftover from being PG, but I don't know when or if that will regulate again.  Do you have any thoughts/suggestions, or is this just a "do the best you can" type of problem?  TIA!

  • Last month for was my first cycle temping and I had the same kind of problems with it. I had a cat that woke me up at 3 am every night for 2 weeks, and I'd also jump up and go to the restroom. IMO, the first month is like you said - do the best you can. If I thought I wouldn't get back to sleep for 3 more hours after being woken up - I went ahead and temped before getting out of bed just in case. Then I would just make sure to enter the different time into FertilityFriend and it took it into account. GL!

  • I think a 'best you can do' is probably a good start.  I'm sure there is no way to teach yourself not to get up and pee.  Otherwise I say wait another month to see if your sleeping pattern regulates.  Good luck!
