3rd Trimester

Does your little bun in the oven....

Have "quiet" days.  My baby has been quiet mostly all day today.  She has moved some this morning and afternoon.  But it is definitely not as strong as usual and not as much.  Should I be concerned?  I thought that if she wasn't very active tomorrow I might call my OB just to check.  Any thoughts as to why she's quiet?

  • Yes. I had one quiet day that I was concerned, but I drank some orange juice and about 1/2 an hour later, the baby was moving like crazy. The baby still moves around a lot even at this point though.

  • My baby has quiet days and crazy days.  I am never too worried because I can always get her to move at least a little bit by drinking ice water or eating candy.  I'm pretty sure it's normal.  They get tired in there from all the growing they're doing!
  • lil man has quiet days and im sure there will be more to come bcuz hes getting bigger and there may not be enuff room for him to move around anymore. lately hes been so active really reacting to things on the outside like music and he gets the hiccups all the time!!!
  • Today was a quiet day, but he also moved positions so he is now kicking me more "inside", not as much belly popping today.  I think his feet are also on my bladder because it feels like someone is tickling it and I constantly feel like I need to pee today!
  • Yup... I had a quiet day yesterday but she was wide awake today, I actually asked her to go to sleep for a little whle this afternoon.

  • I think they have "down" days like we do. If movements don't pick up with some sugar - juice, candy, etc. - call your dr to be safe but I'd think that it woudl likely pick back up tomorrow.

  • Yeah everyone once in awhile my little guy calms down. My doctor said the bigger they get the less room so the less they move. But he suggested that if you get super nervous drink orange juice and then lay on your side for awhile. The sugar should wake up your LO a little to ease your mind.
  • I had one last week.  It totally freaked me out.  I couldn't sleep for several hours that night.  He's picked back up since then, so no worries.

  • She has been quiet lately and it sometimes freaks me out. She has a mind of her own, even eating candy or drinking cold water wont make her move unless she wants to...stubborn just like her momma :)
  • Yes! It freaks me out sometimes but I usually get a good a$$ kicking the next morning.
  • Yes, I've definitely noticed days where he's moving around less. I call them spa days because that's how I picture him... just hanging out in the hot tub, relaxing, lol.
  • Like others said - try a little sugar (candy, juice) and/or cold water.  If movements don't pick up tomorrow, or after trying this, then YES, call Dr.
