Since my company was bought out, my maternity leave has sort of been up in the air. My sales manager nor his director had zero clue was was allowable and I was terrified I would get fvcked because of the acquisition. The bosses have been on me to call benefits and find out what the deal is since our team has never had a sales person take maternity leave.
So I found out I qualify to take the entire 12 weeks of FMLA and the first 21 days is paid. This is actually a huge improvement from the old company where we got 4 weeks unpaid and did not qualify for FMLA because of company size.
I am sure the bosses are going to freak when I tell them I plan to take the entire 12 weeks. Too bad so sad for them!
Re: Found out about my maternity leave today
The bosses can freak all they want but you're entitled to it and there's nothing they can do about it.
I'm glad things seem to be working out better.
Thing 2 = May 2009, Stillborn 33weeks 4lbs 9oz 18in
Thing 3 = October 2010, 27weeks 4days 2lbs 4oz 14.25in
No we don't have short term disability at the new company nor does the state of Florida. I was going to sign up AFLAC at my prior company but figured out that the premiums exceeded what I would qualify for (because of being largely commisssioned).
THIS! And if your doctor wants you out sooner that have to deal with it, you still get 12 weeks after baby is born.
