When was your first appt with your ob? My u/s isn't until the 14th at the RE, where I will be about 8 weeks. They (my re) didn't say anything about calling the ob, but i'll be pissed if I call them at 8w and they can't get me in for months.

Re: Botb moms and currently ku sluts
My OB's office asked if I wanted to come in that day! LOL. I went in at 5 weeks. Getting a pregnancy apointment is FAR easier than getting a yearly.
This time around my first appt isn't until April 20 (I'll be about 8 weeks), and that is just paperwork/family history, etc. My first u/s will be May 5 at 10 weeks.
I think it was about the same last time, but they wouldn't believe me that I O'd late so they thought I was 2 weeks ahead of what I really was. So I guess my appts were at 6 and 8 weeks instead of 8 and 10.
I'd call and see if you're supposed to schedule with the OB now or wait until after your RE appt.
I went in at 4 weeks just to talk to the doctor because my ovary was killing me and I was worried about cysts, and didn't know if they could be dangerous, etc...
Then I went back two weeks later and they did an internal u/s and saw two sacs. Then I went back 10 days later (at about 8 weeks) and they did all the insurance summary stuff then.
They also gave me all the new patient literature then, which I thought was kind of weird since I had already been twice, but I guess they still thought of that as my first official OB visit.

I drive an hour to get to my RE. The day I went in for the u/s and appointment was 6w3d. The RE I saw that day (not my normal one) said that if I could call the OB and get another u/s in a couple weeks I could get the growth checked by the OB here instead of driving back to the RE for the u/s.
I called and got an appointment for when I'll be 8w5d (a week from today) so that's my next u/s and first OB appointment. If growth is ok I'm "released".
If I were I'd call the RE and ask when you should make the OB appointment. They shouldn't leave you in the dark about that. I think it'd be better to get an appointment and cancel than not be able to get in.

Balls, your post title called out to me like cheese calls out to a mouse. I also had my first appointment at 8 weeks.
7w3d I think?
I think they would have waited a while, but since my sister was high risk they took me sooner.
My first appointment was when I was 8 wks. I called them the Monday after I found out that I was pg and 8 wks was the earliest they'd see me.
My dr said today that she wants to see me the second the 2nd line comes up for # 2. Not for medical reasons, but to be excited with me. lol
This must be normal. The first time I called, the reception tried to schedule me for an appt. in March, when I would have been about 10 weeks. I know they are the doctors, but I think that is too long to wait, even if I'm just saying that because I would have been a nervous wreck for 6 weeks after my BFP until I saw the doc.
This. Seriously.

My RE wanted my MD to do an 8 week u/s, so I saw the OB briefly at 5 weeks to get that order, then didn't see her again until 10 weeks ish.
winsy! I must have missed this! Congrats :-) Best I figure, we're days apart.

1st appt was at 6 or 7w. I had an u/s at 7w4d.
Pregnancy gets priority over yearlys
My 1st appt was scheduled for 8 weeks, but I went in at 5 b/c of cramping and sharp pains. I thought it was probably a luteal cyst, which is exactly what it turned out to be.
My first appt was at 7w2d for an ultrasound. After that, we met with the NP to go over all the pregnancy dos and don'ts.
I met my ob at the next appt, which was the NT scan at 11w2d.

I found out I was pregnant on a Sunday, and was in the OB's office on Tuesday. They just had me pee in a cup to confirm and I had my pap that day. Then, I also ended up having an ultrasound because they thought I was further along than I was. I was about 6 weeks along.
Let's try this again...
With Ayden, at 4 weeks I had some spotting - so they agreed to see me early. Then they had me come back at 7 weeks.
I called on Monday for som squared they are going to see me tomorrow
