whole wheat flour vs whole wheat white? Update

I have some whole wheat white flour and a recipe I have calls for whole wheat flour and ap flour... do you think I can just use the whole wheat white for all the flour in the recipe?

Update  - Worked well. I don't have anything to compare them to but for not having any sugar or vanilla in them, just honey, they were really tasty. They got nice and puffy and DS declared them yummy. Though, truth be told, that could just have been because I let him put some purple food coloring in the batter and he was excited about it!

I used this recipe - its a video from foodnetwork.com link

  • This is what I do.  If the recipe seems a little dry you can add in a little extra moisture but I've never had a problem.  I LOVE white whole wheat flour and use it all the time.

  • I'd think the whole wheat vs the whole wheat white wouldn't make any difference.  the AP flour is different, from what I remember, if it's not something really delicate, I don't think it would really make a noticeable difference.

    I'm not 100% certain, I'm afraid.

  • They're pancakes... and as its just me and DS tonight, if they're not perfect it is ok! I think I'll try it and see how it goes. I'll report back! They're pretty easy pancakes if this works.
