Our yard is really, really shady (like we have a hard time growing grass) and we have a serious deer issue.
It's really sad that I find this a great relief in that I can't even attempt to garden. That's bad right?
I mean I might do a few tomato plants on our deck (I killed one last summer though, so maybe not) but there is really no point in me attempting a real garden as the deer would eat it in one night. Fencing is not an option because I know it would have to be 10 ft high and they aren't allowed in our neighborhood.

This is why all I have are hostas. Shade and deer and a black thumb.
And our DIY topsy-turveys last year were fab for basil growing out of the top, but we scored only 2 tomatoes from the plants below. We will try the tomaatoes again this year, though I don't have high hopes.
