I know that someday in the near future I'm going to regret being happy about this, but Zander was "getting in trouble" (as much as an 8 month old can get in trouble, ha!), and I verbally redirected him and he actually listened to me.
He discovered the cords to the TV, DVR, DVD player, etc. today. So all day I've been putting him all the way across the room, but he goes right back. After doing this eleventy billion times, I decided I would try to tell him not to do it and see what happened fully expecting him to ignore me/have no idea what I was saying. So I watched him start to grab the cord and said "Alexander, please let go!". He turned around, looked at me, let go, and scooted away! He then went right back 5 seconds later and we continued the "Alexander! Please let go!", he lets go, moves away, goes back, rinse and repeat. But, he actually listened to me!
I'm sure the whole listening to me thing is short lived so I'll enjoy it while I can!
