And I feel like she will be BF 'till she's 5. She will eat a *little* but only likes Gerber meats. Yuck!!! She gags w/ veggies, wrinkles her nose at banana's, and throws up when I give her avacado. I'm so frustrated
DS was like that with purees. we did baby led weaning simply because traditional "baby good" (even homemade) was like poison to the kid. once we started just doing small chunks of soft foods instead of purees he did amazingly.
Maybe she won't eat, but she's absolutely adorable!
DD wasn't very fond of solids for a long time. In fact, the only things we _know_ she'll eat now are cheese and bread. Have you tried yogurt yet? Mallory did like that for a long time... at least during the time she allowed us to feed her. I used plain yogurt and swirled in a little agave nectar.
We also did/do baby-led weaning. I have a ton of info in my blog - on the sidebar are links about it and all my posts about our experience and a photo album of her eating different foods through the months.
That being said, she didn't start really eating until 8.5 months or so. Before that, we would occasionally see proof of her eating solids in her diaper, but it seemed more that she played with food than actually ate it. We had no luck with purees, but far more luck with real food.
Re: DD still isn't fond of solids.
Thats good to hear!
Those are both great ideas. I gave her a small piece of a banana today, and she did okay w/ it, she just didn't enjoy it.
I never thought to try beans. Maybe we'll try that next.
