Recommending supplements is mostly an americanized measure that isnt really necessary. Iron is not needed for breastfed babies at all, and vitamin d is now recommended because of mothers who do not know about making sure thier child gets sunlight. Formula isnt that great and was invented only for medically necessary situations. People just use it now for convenicne which is kind of gross. I wouldnt want baby's life started on something out of a can.
Are you kidding me? Convenience? So, I should have just let my baby starve to death? What do you consider medically necessary? Plus, I can tell you formula is not nearly as convenient as breastfeeding.

OOh I just read the OP....and now I wanna smack somebody! Especially after I read this:
A child could live on cheetos and peanut butter and jelly, same as a baby can live on formula. But theres a healthier option.

She is one of the holier than thou breastfeed or die people, obviously. I wish everyone just cared about their own baby and not try to shove their ideals doen other's throats. It really pisses me off!
My DS started getting formula in NICU...if it is good enough for them to use it is good enough for me to use!
I just finished weaning DS and now 3am feedings may take a little longer and are a bit less convenient...but I am not starving to death because my diet was so limited by what upset him in my milk. I was a tired angry hungry momma and now I am happy again! That is good for everyone!!
That's what really gets me about that type of person. Just worry about your own baby and not everyone else's. I don't jump into posts about bedsharing and babywearing and get all holier than thou. I could care less about what you do with your baby, if it works for you great. I hate it that people make you feel bad about the choices you made. I would breastfeed if I could, but it didnt work out... so formula was the choice made.

This whole "make people feel bad because they don't breastfeed" crap is really annoying. Why does anyone care what anyone else does? I just feel like their are ACTUAL sh1tty parents in the world to judge if you want to.
Because you feed your baby formula doesn't make you a bad person who doesn't care about the health of your baby. No matter what the reason! If you didn't want to breastfeed because you like your perky boobs (I really miss mine) then fine. If you feed your baby then it should be good enough for everyone else. Such a weird judgement IMO.
I'm an EBFer and I totally agree with you...I don't shove my decision down other people's throats. As long as your baby is happy, healthy and thriving then who cares what you feed them...just lay off the Cheetos.
Seriously washing bottles for daycare is a SERIOUS PITA! I don't know how you girls do that crap! Sucktastic.
I think the saddest thing is that a lot of the women on here who formula feed did originally want to breastfeed. It took me a long time to accept the fact that formula wasn't poison and that it was the best thing for my baby.
However, I don't judge people who chose to formula feed from the beginning, no matter what their reason.

This!! There are some people who come to start drama on purpose (trolls) and there are those who put themselves on pedestals and cause drama as well.
I BF and I loved it but due to medical complications and the advice of two doctors/specialists it was decided I stop. This is what was ultimately best for us.
I don't worry about the good mothers who are not BF or CD at all, I'm more worried the ones who don't give a crap about their kids or does or allows worse.
So I could care less what others have to say unless your planning on donating your milk or placing your boob in another childs mouth that needs it... get the hell off of your high horse or I'll gladly shove your a$$ off!
