I never put shoes on DD- partly b/c I don't see the point, partly b/c I can't find any that fit her fat little feet, and partly b/c if I do find a pair that fits, they fall off 110x a day.
But, I guess as she gets closer to *gasp* walking, and the weather gets nice, she will need something.
Share your opinions.... If your LO does wear shoes, where did you/do you get them from. How much do you pay for them?
Re: does your LO wear shoes?
If I don't put shoes on M then either her socks fall off or she pulls them off and sticks them in her mouth. She isn't anywhere near to walking yet but I almost never leave the house without putting shoes on her. Once it is consistently warm outside I may change my ways, but as long as it is snowing, she'll be wearing shoes.
"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
I can't keep shoes on DS so he goes with just socks or booties
can't wait till summer and he can go barefoot!
Yes, but only now that he's walking. He has 2 pairs that he wears regularly right now, a pair of Robeez and a pair of Pedipeds.
The Robeez were a gift and I bought the Pedipeds on clearance from Nordstrom for $20.
My DS wears shoes whenever we leave the house (except if going to daycare). It's mainly to keep his socks on and his feet warm. The shoes we have were either gifts or passed down from my nephew so we haven't bought any yet. Maybe that's why we have him wear them, because we have them so why not?
DS has a few pairs of shoes. One I just bought for Easter...nicer brown shoes from BRU - I think I spent $10 on them!?
He actually wore tennis shoes today that I bought at BRU for about $6. They already fell off once before we even left the house this morning...so I doubt he's wearing them now!
I really don't see a point until they start walking
(I used the word too)
DD wore shoes with her Christmas dress.. otherwise, hasn't worn them. I don't see the need, she pulls them off, etc etc. Everybody buys her shoes, I have a drawer full, but she doesn't wear them. I'll start putting them on when she starts walking.
Socks, in the mouth. Unless we're going out, or it's cold in the house.. she is barefoot.
Max has a pair of leather ones like Robeez that came from Target. He wore those this winter when it was too cold for just socks. They always stayed on his feet really well. Our pediatrician said only soft soled shoes to start with, even when they start to walk, since he's not even crawling yet we won't bother with shoes again until he is walking or it gets cold.
Someone gave us a pair of sandals for summer, but they have really thick rigid soles and I can't barely get them on his feet, and they really don't look that comfortable so i just tossed them.
