This is our first bout with a fever, so I'm still learning!
His fever went down this morning and he was acting normally, but just a minute ago it was back up to 102.6. I gave him motrin.
But he has no appetite. Not even for his favorite foods like strawberries, cheese or crackers. Sometimes he'll put it in his mouth and then spit it right back out.
Do most kiddos lose their appetite with a fever?
Re: Fever = no appetite?
yes, absolutely. try to up the fluids if you can.
I hope the little boy feels better very soon.

"our IF story"
Yes, it's normal. Andrew was doing the same thing -- putting food in his mouth and spitting it back out.
Don't worry too much about the solids. Just keep pushing the fluids!
Hope he feels better very soon!
yeah just as pp said, keep them hydrated. we gave more water and gatorade (watered down).
I also have to say that sometimes he wouldn't take his sippy cup, so I gave him a bottle (even though we are 100% done with bottles). I think sometimes he has pain maybe tooth pain where he doesn't want the sippy cup, so I just make sure he gets something down even it means taking step backwards. I also try to pour milk down his throat if he doesn't want to drink (from a cup).
I also am of the camp that I didn't just stop purees at 1yr....if he doesn't want solids, I give him more liquidy type food (yogurt, applesauce, baby jars...) He still gets jars for breakfast since he doesn't like much else (at least at daycare).
