Parenting after a Loss

So not fair

I spend all day with DD, talking to her, singing to her, playing with her - she smiles big and talks to me a little bit. DH comes home last night, talks to her for 2 minutes and she just talks constantly for like 10 minutes.

She laughed for the first time a week and a half ago, once. It was the greatest sound. She hadn't laughed since. DH was blowing raspberries on her belly last night and she laughed for like 5 minutes. What the heck? I blow raspberries on her belly everyday. I feel jipped!

  • I know!  DH can make DS crack up and I have to work myself into a crazy person to get DS to laugh just once.  And even then it's almost like he's just throwing me a bone - it actually makes me laugh because I can tell the difference between his real laughs and his "ok I'll indulge your efforts" laugh.

  • Same here.  I can do the exact same thing as DH and apparently I'm just not funny.  Rarely I get the laughs. DH can get them anytime.  I just sit back and enjoy.  My feelings were hurt at first but now I just take in the awesome sound of her laugh :)
