Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Funny Stranger Comments

DH and I were out to dinner last night.  An elderly lady walked by our table, looked at DS and exclaimed "That's a FAT baby!"  She asked how old he was, we said 6 months, and she again said he that he's huge.  We found this very comical and took it as a compliment.  DS by the way is 18 lbs 4oz so he's not even that huge, just healthy and cute!

Anyone have any funny stranger stories to share?

  • Ppl say that all the time about my 4 month old. They all say he is a Big baby, have yet to hear fat. But I love kissing those rolls! I think mainly they are referring to his length! Oh and he was 14 lbs 6 oz at his 4 month check up.

  • Random people come up to me in the grocery store or wherever to comment on how big DS' hands are.  They really are big (wide palms and long, long fingers), it's just crazy how people I don't even know want to come and tell me this.

  • A old lady at my grandparents retirement community asked if DD was a girl or boy. This would normally be an ok question, but she was wearing dress, covered with a pink blanket and had pink toys hanging from her carset.

One time we went to Cheesecake Factory and LO was crying (just a little) and our waitress said, "It's so pathetic when they cry at this age, isn't it?".  Ummm, pathetic?  Not so much, what else should they be doing?  She also went on to tell the two of us that it was ok for us to have fries with our lunches instead of salads cause it was the weekend and it was ok to cheat. We didn't mention diets or anything, so she was pretty much calling us fat..last time we eat there!

  • DH and I decided one time when Evelyn was about 3 months old to eat at Crabby Joes (we'd never eaten there before)... the waitress thought my daughter was a tiny 6 month old cuz of the way she was pushing away from my chest when I was holding her. Umm.. nope, she's just a strong lil 3 month old.. still short for her age, but only 3 months!
