What do you ladies normally eat for Easter dinner? Back home, we either do boiled crawfish or BBQ. It will just be me and my husband up here. LO's EDD is Easter Sunday. At this point in time, I am trying to plan a meal in the case that she doesn't arrive that day.
So what do y'all eat?
Re: Easter Dinner
Ham, Kugala (Lithuanian potato dish), potato salad, baked carrots, green beans, and a bunch of other stuff. My IL's are doing the cooking! I do the eating
!
Our family usually does lamb on easter - yummmm!! DH and I are going to my parents and we'll have leg of lamb, potatoes, salad, and some other side dishes. Looking forward to it
I am still hoping to be in the hospital. I should have thought ahead to get the crawfish. There aren't very many good places here in Shreveport to get them. I miss being back south (I am from Erath, south of Lafayette) because they had GREAT crawfish. I may just make a crawfish fettucinne or etouffee.
With my family we eat ham, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, corn, stuffing, etc... it's like Thanksgiving but without the turkey.
With my inlaws, they generally make lamb
Crawfish Etouffee sounds SO good right now. I'm actually in Slidell now (just recently moved from BR), and we have some pretty good crawfish here. Still early in the season, so they're a little small, but not too small.
at the IL's we'll have ham, mashed potatoes and green beans. for dessert, there will be something that's trans fat free. yuck!
with my parents we'll have salad, appetizers, spanish pork, spanish rice w/ beans and my choice of dessert. i'm thinking of making either a coconut cake, strawberry short cake or creme brulee. i may end up making all 3! haha
We do lunch with my side of the fam & it's usually ham, potatoes, green bean cass, bread & the desserts.
We do dinner with his family & they have a long standing tradition of during Curry Chicken & Rice (with crazy choose-your-own toppings). His aunt makes it for Easter but I don't like her version so I just do rice & toppings, lol!
We normally have a huge get together with family, and friends, but this year it will just with family. We always do a ham, green bean casserole, yam casserole, home made sweet yeast rolls, fruit salad, and a number of different deserts.
Everyone know's if LO comes, and Iam in the hospital they are to bring me a huge plate of food, and desert!
