If I didn't have a Moby my first couple of months, I think I would have had a harder time BFing, worse PPD and a more cranky baby.
I got a Maya wrap/sling and could never get the hang of it and DD never felt totally comfy in it, even after watching the DVD. however the Moby DH and I figured out after watching one YouTube video.
That being said, the Moby sucks after a few months because it is so stretchy. Some parents get the hang of it, but we have found it to kill our backs after a short walk.
I voted sling b/c, like the pp said, the moby gets hard to use when they get big. I have found my ring slings to be versatile. They are saving my life right now!

I LOVED my Moby. DH even wore it a few times. It's not as complicated as many think. We've got an Ergo now and it's a lot more convenient than the Moby, so that's what we use, but definitely will go back to the Moby for the NB+ stage with #2 when it comes time.

I could not live without my moby. I used it for ds at twenty pounds and dd lives in it when we're out. She's in it right now sleeping peacefully while we were in the laundromat and now at mcdonalds while ds has some pancakes. People ask how old she is but don't bother her.

DS loves the Moby. He gets all cuddled up and comfy and passes right out in it. He also does well in my Babyhawk but isn't quite as cuddled up or comfy. I never did like a sling with my kids. And the Moby gets stretchy but if you wash it and dry it it goes back to normal. I wash mine about once a week and I use it all the time.
Moby. and yes, it stretches...but washing and drying it makes it snap back pretty well. and if you use it often, you'll get the hang of it quickly. I could get my (knockoff brand) Moby on in like 3 seconds flat after a few tries.
Moby - we still use it on occasion. The only negative thing I will say is that I did tend to use it less on quick trips, since I wasn't a fan of wearing it as I was going from place to place. However, I love it for longer trips and hiking, etc. We've never had any issue with it stretching, and used it occasionally up until a few months ago (DS is 19 mo), but maybe I never noticed anything because we washed it fairly regularly.

THIS exactly. And then you don't need the infant insert for the Ergo. I LOVED the Moby for the infant stage. Especially with a colicky baby who only wanted to be held upright at ALL times.
DS #3 diagnosed at birth with panhypopituitarism - lack of pituitary function. He is treated with thyroxine, hydrocortisone, growth hormone and testosterone.
Re: Carriers - 2 choices and only 2
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have an ergo, or will when it comes in the mail.
Any reason it HAS to be a ring sling and not just a sling?? I LOVED my hotsling, but I hated my ring sling.
I've never used a moby, but mostly because they look complicated and I really liked how easy it was just to pop a screaming DS in the sling.

The store that I have the GC to only has moby's and another type of ring sling that I can't remember the name of (I was a bit dazzled by the mobys).
