Gassy/Upset stomach help

Do any of you moms have any tips or suggestions on babies with gassy or upset stomachs?  My dd is not colicky, but tends to get what I assume is gassy.  Any helpful info you could share with me?
TIA!

Re: Gassy/Upset stomach help

  • Well the first question is always are you BF or FF?

If you are breastfeeding, you will want to try to cut things from your diet.  I have cut out dairy and it seems to have made quite a difference in DC.

If you are FF, then you might want to switch formulas.

  • Oops.  Sorry - forgot that detail.  I am EBF.  I cut out milk, but still have had other dairy.  I think I will try keeping a log of what I eat for the next couple of days or week and see what happens.  I was wondering if anyone had ideas for the moment when she has gas - I have tried Mylicon gas drops, but can't really tell if they are helping.  I have given her a pacifier, but I don't want her to become too dependent on that either.  It is painful to watch her suffer and not be able to sleep because her stomach is upset.
  • I recently started using gripe water for E and it works really well!

  • I've used mylicon baby and it works wonders. I bf and she gets gassy once in a while.
  • I also massage her belly gently and lay her on her right side, as per pedi, to aid her digestion.
