I don't care what anyone says...

two spawn are 10,000x harder to handle than one.

For those of you who are dealing with a newborn and a toddler/pre-schooler/other child/childish husband, I feel for you.  My heart aches for you.  I have been where you are right now, and it's HARD.

You'll get through it, though.  It'll be a challenge, but you'll make it.  I promise.  And it *does* get better.  WAY better.  Fabulously better.  I really, really promise.

((hugs))

  • Please don't make me cry. I'm in public! Happy to know it gets better.

All of the above? I have no idea why you put this out there right now -- but it's exactly what I'm dealing with. Plus, in the past two weeks, we've dealt with pneumonia, ear infections, and croup.

Thanks for the moral support. I needed it today!!

  • I wish I would have heard somebody say this a year ago.  It _is_ really, really hard and mine are still really young but things are so much easier and so much happier in our home now that I have a 1 and 3 year old.  I don't feel like the stressed out short on patience mom any more.  So, I guess what I'm saying is that it doesn't take all that long to see the light.  Oh... and life is so much easier when you can get a decent amount of sleep.  DD only recently started STTN (not every night mind you) and it makes all the difference in the world!

  • Oh thank you! Days like yesterday make me wonder why in the world we ever wanted two...good to know it gets better.
  • I agree Glad!  It started getting easier for me when C was around 3 months (J was 24 months then).  We still have our days at 4 and 2 of course, but who doesn't?  =)

Yah, pretty sure I cried for the first 4 months non-stop.  Then it got better.  And even though right now they're fighting about who gets to play in the top bunk, it's quite nice these days.

The phrase "conception bed" would deter me in and of itself...

It ranks right up there with "baby dancing," IMO.

  • DD is way harder to handle than the twins. They are 15 months apart. DD is driving me up a wall. She was attacking the twins all evening yesterday. I'm surprised the poor little guys don't have concussions from being whacked with books.
