We are paying for movers this time too. I told DH we are too old to commandeer our friends with a bribe of pizza and beer to help us move! It is more expensive than I thought it would be, but at this point, I don't care. I recommend calling several different places. We ended up going with a local company b/c they came in several hundred dollars cheaper and have a policy that the total cost can exceed a max of 110% of the estimate. I liked that b/c most places just charge you $100-$150/hour until they are done, no matter how long it takes.
Moving is a hassle isn't it?!

That's good info. Thanks! I arranged a move for my office a few years back and I forget how much it was - but it wasn't terrible. We needed one truck and two guys for the big pieces. They had a 3rd guy who schlepped boxes.
I agree our friends are getting too old and fragile
Can't risk a back injury.
