Holy crap

reality is sinking in... I can't believe I only have 10 weeks left until my due date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Where did the time go?
I feel like I need to get into nesting mode soon- I haven't done much to prepare for this baby :(

What week did you ladies work up until, or plan to work until?  I'm trying to figure this out.

Re: Holy crap

  • Tomorrow's my last day; so I worked until 36/37 weeks--oy.

I'm sure you're prepared, mama. You've done this before! ;)

  • Loading the player...
  • i worked til my due date, then my doctor asked me to stop.  DS came at 41 weeks 1 day.
  • I worked up 'til the end, but I'm a teacher, so since I had summer babies, I did get some break.  1 month before DS#1 was born, and 2 weeks before DS#2 was born.

  • Delivered on Monday at 41 weeks. Worked through the Friday before.

You are in the home stretch!

  • oddly i worked the day i went into full blown labor. I was due January 7th (delivered December 29th) and was working 10 hour days so i had said i would stop working in October at the earliest and mid November at the latest, then work as a consultant till mid December then be "on call" for emergencies and then done (wasn't planning on returning to work after the baby was born)

but i ended up working till mid December full time then was "on call" and worked some half days till 2 weeks before i delivered, and oddly i had an emergency call on the 28th where the database went down and went in for 7 hours... yea... had the baby the next morning.

so you can work up till you deliver or just up till a couple weeks before, but since babies come when they feel like it, its hard to "schedule" time off before their arrival. :)

IMHO i'd say shoot for 2-3 weeks before your due date if you don't plan on going back to work. if you do plan on going back to work and are taking leave, i'd work till you deliver and maybe work flex hours or part time those last few weeks. (when you are really tired and "done" being pregnant)
