?s About Inserts

I tried searching but couldn't find an answer...

I think I remember hearing that microfiber can't be put against a baby's skin - is this true? Can other insert materials? Can an insert just be placed in a diaper (as opposed to inside a pocket)? Can I put an insert on top of a prefold or a fitted inside a cover, for night, for example?

I'm still just trying to get my mind around it all - including "what if's" - before LO comes. Part of me wonders if I should give up till she's here and I'll have real-life experience!

Thanks!!

Re: ?s About Inserts

  • I just encountered this because I got some inserts on SwapSpot. MF can't go against baby's skin, but other materials can. I put fleece against baby's butt, and just got some cotton inserts that can go there as well.

I do this, but have a fleece liner between bum and insert.  If you feel the microfiber it like catches on your skin.  I just figured I wouldn't want that directly on my bum, hence the fleece liner.
