We're going over to another couple's house tonight for dinner. The other girl is also pregnant, and I'm trying to think of something to take over. We already offered to bring something and they said no. I'm having a hard time with this one...we usually bring wine, but I know she's not drinking any while she's preg. Any ideas? Btw, I normally wouldn't stress about this, but they're kind of new work friends, so I want to be polite!

She's preggers....what else?? Food!! Something for dessert? A Cheesecake? Pie? Cookies?? Any of the above would be welcome treats for me right now!
A yummy dessert or treat. Oh, and I love the pp's ideas as well.
BTW, your mama raised you right. I never go anywhere empty handed. Even if the person says you don't have to bring anyting. I think that it's just plain rude to show up without at least a little something.
I also believe in never showing up empty handed. However, I don't like to bring anything that is meant to be consumed immediately (like baked goods, etc.) unless the hostess specifically accepts my invitationto do so. I figure she has a menu planned already. I'd do flower, a box of chocolate or a nice bottle of olive oil as a hostess gift.
