Question about scraping dipers

For the poop ones...just how much do I need to scrap off?  And what is the best way to do it?

I'm paranoid that I'm going to open my washer one day and see a poop "shyte-storm" inside because I'm not scraping sufficiently.

We've started using our CDs more because they contain any blowouts SO much better than sposies.

TIA!

Re: Question about scraping dipers

  • Pre-Diaper sprayer, we used a plastic knife (we kept it in the bathroom, near the toilet).  Now, though, we have a Diaper Sprayer installed and it's the best.thing.ever.  Either method, you want to get as much of the big chunky bits off as possible.  Solid poo isn't water soluable like BF poo so you want as much off as possible to avoid the "shyte-storm" inside your washer and on your other non-poo diapers.

  • We use the rice paper liners when we are expecting a poop, and it contains all the solids leaving only a little color/moisture behind. On the off day where she has an off-schedule poop sans rice paper, we have a sprayer that we use to get off as much as humanly possible without actually scrubbing. We've had no problems with our pocket dipes and liners getting clean in the wash without a sh--storm, but our dang AIOs are a PITA about getting poop clean. Ugh.
  • Just scrape off the "chunks" and whatever gooey stuff you're able to.  We've never had poop in the washer issues.
