More wool questions

If I put some hand knit soakers in the washer to felt them....I don't need to lanolize them?  But, they'll still work as soakers?  I should dye them ahead of time right?  And also, since they'll be felted can I throw these in the wash on a regular basis or should I go with hand washing for them?

    You may still want to lanolize. I've seen people on here do one or the other, even with felted soakers.

    They should still work.

    I would dye ahead of time.

    I wouldn't continue to throw them in the wash. They may felt more.
