so DS is outgrowing his newborn stuff and his 0-3 stuff and I was trying to decide if I should hold onto it for any future children...(life doesnt go according to plan but the "plan" is another LO in 2-3 years) or try to sell it in our yearly garage sale or what...
thoughts?
Re: should I keep this stuff?
If you're planning on another child that soon, hang on to it. If you have limited storage space, keep your favorite or most useful pieces and get rid of the rest.
I have kept everything and am glad I did since I got knocked up again! After this baby I am not saving anything except for my favorites, though.
You could just keep your favorites if you don't want to mess with storing it all.

I would say sell it. After 3 years, and not being able to conceive another child, the stuff I saved (pretty much everythings) is almost worthless. I have had to give most of it away, or sell for really cheap. (I am letting it all go, because it will be too old to use again, if we do have another child)
You could always sell the stuff and put it in a savings account to resupply in the future.
I kept ours, and we're not sure if we're having another one.
with our daughter i saved primarily the gender neutral things-i have had a garage sale every year and people have thought i'm crazy-but i always said that i could find things at a garage sale or second hand shop again or go shopping and i'd rather have the clothing go to people who need it now versus sit in my basement for however many years. i am very glad i sold some things here and there the past 3 years as low and behold baby #2 was a boy!!!!!!!!!!! glad i kept the gender neutral things, but very glad to have unloaded 3 totes of pink, purple etc girly things! (i have 7 other totes full so even a small reduction was good).
This. I would keep gender neutral basic things. There are so many "ifs" in the equation it's probably not worth it.
Will you get pregnant again? Will it be the same sex? Will it be born at the same time and be able to wear the same items in the same season? Will family/friends give you gifts for holidays/birthdays to replace the items? etc.
My friend had twin girls and got pregnant when they were 1. Her girls are on the small side and her son is HUGE (like they are about 3 pounds different now and he's only 6 months old!). My point being, even if he would have been a girl, the sizing/season would have been off.
