7pdo lab results:
prolactin 16.1
progesterone 5.3
LH 10.9
SH 4.1
Nurse said she thought those were all normal, but will have to call me back because she didn't ask the doctor. ![]()
Now it sounds like DH is up to bat. (He actually agreed to go "for us" so that's a big plus.)
Re: f/u to labs
Ok, it's been a while since I've done these tests but I'll try and remember what some of the numbers mean.
Your LH and FSH (I'm assuming that's what the SH number is down there) are within normal ranges which is good. However, because the LH number is more than twice the FSH number that *could* be an indication of PCOS. Something to talk with your doctor about, but may not be anything.
Your progesterone number seems low to me. I don't remember what the "normal" range is for that at 7dpo, but I know my RE wanted mine above 10 for a non-medicated cycle.
Your prolactin number seems good, but like I said it's been a while so I don't remember the specifics.
I hope you get some more answers from your doctor. Good luck!
Thanks, Leslie. I really have no idea and apparently neither does the nurse. I just wish that the doctor would call me instead so we didn't have to play telephone with what's what with my health.
The insight into the PCOS possibility is interesting, I'll have to bring that up when we talk next.
After responding I decided to look it up and found this page on it. It's geared specifically to what the numbers mean in relation to PCOS, but it's a good place to start.
My LH and FSH numbers were almost exactly what yours are, and my RE was concerned about PCOS. After looking at my ovaries on CD3, and throughout my IUI cycles he determined that I likely had a mild case of it, but not really enough to affect my chances while TTC since I ovulated fairly normally. So while I had issues (plus my f'ed up uterus causing m/c's) he didn't think it was from PCOS.
