Babies on the Brain

I made it

I watched my friend's 8 month-old today.  I feel like I've run a marathon everytime I have 2 babies all day.  They eat, nap, and poop at different times.  And when one cries, it makes the other cry.  Every time.

I have no idea how Leslie does this every day.  Sleep

Re: I made it

  • I do this two days a week for work.  You'd think because you have experience with one, two wouldn't be so much harder.  It is quite a workout!  The thing that has made my days go faster and easier is to get out of the house.  Even if its a trip around the block or go walk around the mall for an hour, the kids are so much happier and sleep better.

What's the age gap?  The gap between E (the one I sit for) and N is 4 months.  They have me go-go-going!

  • LOL, having twins is nothing like watching two babies from different families.  The duo are mostly on the same schedule/routing and have been from very early on because they're together all.the.time.  They eat at the same time, they nap at the same time, they usually are happy and cranky at the same time.  They even poop on the same schedule most days.  If they were on different schedules I'd probably cry on a daily basis.

The girls are 5 months apart.  We did go for a walk, but it was short.  I don't have a double stroller, and Kate kept running into people's yards.  I carried her most of the way.

I don't watch her very often.... I can't imagine taking them both to the mall!  Kate is so energetic - she doesn't stay still for a second.

Oh yeah, that would be hard without a double!  I actually bought a double off of Ebay when I started nannying (with Keagan).  It has been so useful.  E is very busy but she is a beast if we stay inside all day.  That's actually why I started my mom's group.  LOL  We just needed to get out of the house and do things.

This age gap, now that they are both mobile (E runs/walks, N crawls), is kind of tricky.  I will be in for it once N is walking ::pulls hair out::

  • Do you have a sling that you could pop the little one in for walks or going out?  That would be an easy way to get out of the house with both of them without having to get a double stroller.  A lot of times I end up with one baby in the sling and one in the stroller anyway, because they're not content to sit in the stroller for long amounts of time anymore.

That's a great idea, but the baby is freaking huge!  She's at least 8-9 pounds heavier than K.
