Playhouse for outside - yay or nay

I think DD would love it. We could keep it indoors when it is cold, but I plan to keep it outside so she can play when it is warm. DH thinks it is a waste of money and she would enjoy a play set more with a slide and swings. My problem with that is we are talking a $100 investment vs. $500 +. What do you recommend??

    P has an outdoor playhouse and LOVES it.  She could play in that for hours.  I would get the play house for sure.

    When I took Cadence to Monkey Joes she was more interested in the play house than the jumpy stuff. If we had a big enough yard I would get her one.
