What's the point of friends?

On The Bump, that is.  Why do people have friends listed on their profile?  Should I be concerned that I have no friends?  WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT ME?!

    I only have one friend on the bump, my coworker (she just had a baby in March).

    Other than that I have no friends. Crying

    I only have one friend listed.  And she's my friend IRL.  I don't know that there's a point, but she asked and I accepted.  If anyone else asked, I would accept.  But I don't really get the point either so I haven't asked anyone.

    You can set it so Friends can see more of your bio (if you have one). No one else will be able to see it but your Friends (if that is the setting you pick).

    No clue. I have a few but they all added me. I sometimes use it to search for one of their posts or something
