16 Weeks Today!

I am very anxious about this week.  We are high risk...and have an appt on Friday for the first LEVEL II Ultrasound....will we find out the sex of the baby then?  It is very in depth right?? I am just confused!

    You might be able to find out, but I wouldn't go out shopping just yet if you do get a prediction.  It seems like most docs like to wait until 18w+ before they will "accurately" predict.

    Good luck at your u/s :). You should be able to find out, as long as the baby cooperates. Although it is more accurate later on.

    Most doc's will do a gender u/s between 18-22 weeks. But the gender is recognizable as early as 16 weeks. So you should be able to tell, but closer to 20 weeks is when the genitals are done forming.

    I'm 16 weeks today too, we have ours next Monday.  I'm hoping we will be able to see the sex then too!

    We haven't had our level 2 yet, but at my standard monthly appt at 16w1d we saw very clearly that it was a boy in the ultrasound. Doc said he was 99% sure.

    At my level 2 in the next couple of weeks, doctor said the tech would measure all of the baby's key organs to make sure they are all growing properly and everything is in the right place. I'm looking forward to seeing the LO again!

    I bet they will at least try to see. I had an emergency u/s yesterday and the dr. wanted to tell me, but the little booger wouldn't uncross its legs!
